The University of Victoria Vikes and the UBCO Heat met in the consolation final of the CUMRC on Sunday afternoon.

The Vikes took a notable first half lead despite numerous breakthroughs by the Heat.

Morgan Di Nardo, Jaxson Jones, Ryder Heaney-Corns, and Phoenix Moller were the opening half try scorers, combining with converts by Max Bennett to build a 33-0 advantage.

UBCO’s defence held strong in the beginning of the second half, but Victoria eventually powered through the goal line for a try at the 39th minute.

The Heat put points on the board nearing the end of the game with Jason Sendall scoring the try and Nathan Holmes getting the convert.

In the second half, the Vikes added four tries to their score, winning the consolation final 59-7.
