Seeding Announced for 2024 Raymond James Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship presented by Lougheed Wealth Management and streamed on The Rugby Network.
The Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship (CUMRC) is pleased to announce the seedings for the 2024 championship, hosted by the University of Ottawa in Ottawa, ON. The tournament kicks off on Wednesday, November 13, and concludes on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
The eight participating teams, listed in seeding order, are as follows:
• #1, University of British Columbia, BC University Champion
• #2, University of Guelph, OUA Champion
• #3, University of Victoria, BC University Runner-Up
• #4, Memorial University, Atlantic Champion
• #5, École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), RSEQ Champion
• #6, Queen’s University, OUA Runner-Up
• #7, University of Ottawa, Hosts & RSEQ Runner-Up
• #8, University of British Columbia – Okanagan, Prairies Champion
The seeding process follows the principles established by the CUMRC, which aim to respect the results of regional playoffs, avoid same-region matchups on Day 1, and consider previous years’ championship results and any inter-conference play. The draw has been structured so that regional champions are seeded higher than champions from regions with lower finishes in the previous year. Raymond James and Lougheed Wealth Management return as Title and Presenting sponsor for 2024!

The 2024 Championship will be hosted by the University of Ottawa from November 13 to 17 at Matt Anthony Field. Once again, the tournament will feature eight teams from across Canada.
